PrecautionsWhile you are on your Meridia (Reductil) regiment you should avoid taking nonprescription and prescription medication you use, particularly other weight loss diet pills unless cleared by your doctor. You will also need to discuss you medical history with your doctor to make sure that you can take this medication safely without having a drug interaction. While taking Meridia (Sibutramine) you must avoid cough suppressants such as (dextromethorphan), antidepressants, stimulants that will raise your blood pressure, such as caffeine or decongestions. It is recommended that women of child-bearing age should use effective birth control while taking Meridia. This drug is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Because of the potential risk to the infant, breast-feeding while using Meridia is not recommended. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. Elderly patients may be more sensitive to the effects of this drug. Please use Meridia with caution as it is similar chemically to amphetamines and has the potential for psychological dependency. Driving and Hazardous Work: Meridia may dizziness or make you less alert than normal .Do not drive or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how you react to phentermine. Alcohol : Alcohol may increase unwanted side effects of dizziness, therefore, it is advisable to limit alcohol use while taking Generic Meridia (or other appetite suppressants). Do not miss any medical directions while taking the drug and before any medical or dental treatments, emergency care, or surgery, tell the doctor or dentist that you are using Meridia. Any drug that acts on the nervous system can theoretically diminish discernment, thinking, and motor skills. Meridia does not seem to have this effect, but caution is still in order until you know how the drug affects you. If you have narrow-angle glaucoma or thyroid problems, make sure the doctor knows; Meridia should be used with caution in these circumstances. If you are inclined to gallstones, be aware that weight loss can cause more of them to form. Meridia has not been tested in people under 16 years old. It should be used with caution in those over 65. Although it has been classified as a controlled substance (potentially subject to abuse), the possibility of developing physical or psychological dependence is low.
